Mostly, NGO are privately funded through donations, charity & some of the NGO’s are government aided institutions. Those institution which are directly or indirectly funded by the government are the ones on which government has certain influence on their activities.

NGO’s are being managed by a group of trustees, who take the initiative of pooling the funds from various sources such as voluntary donations, foreign contributions or some other donations in lieu of getting tax benefits. But irrespective of the source of funds for your NGO there are 3 broad categories of online NGO registration in India:

  1. Digital signature certificate (DSC) application for proposed directors.
  2. Form DIR-3 must be filed with the registrar of companies (ROC).
  3. Director identification number (DIN) for director acknowledgment.
  4. Form INC-1: Apply for the name of the Trust/company/society.
  5. MOA/AOA of the proposed NGO registration.
  6. Apply for company incorporation certificate.

  1. Choose an appropriate name for your trust.
  2. Finalise the trustee for the proposed entity.
  3. Prepare an MOA/AOA and rules for the functioning of trust.
  4. Prepare the clauses of the trust deed.
  5. Trust deed must be prepared in consultation with legal expert.
  6. Trust deed must be registered with the local registrar as per the Indian trust act, 1882
  7. Submit the Trust Deed, along with attested photocopies with the local registrar.
  8. Final approval for online Trust registration will take a week’s time for approval.
